Bill Russell's Memoir
Bill Russell won 11 championships with the Celtics, a record that no one else in basketball history has beaten to this day. In his memoir, Bill Russell wrote, I once described Boston as the most racist city in America. Many of the people who cheered me at the Boston Garden reacted in horror when I tried to purchase a home in the all-white suburb of Reading. The burglars had broken into my father's trophy case and smashed most of the trophies. He was never walking on that floor with that kind of anger, because he first made anger.
