Executive functioning conducts our multisensory symphony of cognitive skills and makes it possible for us to

- initiate tasks to name a few.
Today, we will offer an overview of the core executive functioning skills.
3 Core Executive Functions
- Working Memory - Ability to temporarily store, manage, and manipulate a limited amount of information for reasoning, comprehension, and the preparation of long-term memory.
- - Inner voice
- - Inner visuals
- Inhibitory Control - Inhibitory control (one of the core EFs) involves being able to control one’s attention, behavior, thoughts, and/or emotions to override temptations and distractions, and instead do what’s appropriate or needed.
- Cognitive Flexibility - Ability to adapt thought processes in response to their ever-changing environment. - Creativity
