Do we notice more gay stuff and bonobos or chimps? Absolutely. Bonobo females in order to form and maintain strong social bonds will have sex with each other. We call this socio sexual behavior because it's not for reproduction. And it's also to release tension. But recently, a paper came out last year by a good friend of mine named Rachna Reddy showing that chimpanzee males do have some socio sexual behavior as well.
