The Atrocities of the Spanish Conquistadors
The spanish were coming out of the recent experience of the re conquest, right? And the recap turing of granada. So their mentality is, when you encounter a new people who are not christian, you use force to subjugate them and you break all resistance. They often massacre the leaders of these various societies. There was extensive torture and rape. Often people who resisted or tried to escape would be chased into the forest bya dogs.
