The Importance of Functionality in a Hammer
A hammer is a tool which has a very specific job. It should be judged first and foremost on its ability to get the nail in the wall. The aesthetic, aesthetically pleasing aspects of language are important too but they're not the most important things. You need to have a cake first before you can have a cherry. That's the cherry on the top of the cake afterwards.
