A lawsuit against 23andMe alleges that their test results are meaningless, and they use false advertising to promote their kits. They were also sent a warning letter from the FDA, warning the company that their marketing materials quote, violate federal law by making claims which have never been federally approved. The long game here is not to make money selling kits, although the kits are essential to get base-level data. Once you have the data, the company does actually become the Google of personalized healthcare.
