Living in Extreme Poverty

Many people don't give to charities that seek to reduce extreme poverty because they believe it is a hopeless task. A few years ago, the world bank asked researchers to do just that. They were able to document the experiences of 60 thousand women and men in 73 countries over and over in different languages and on different continents. Poor people said what poverty meant to them and what poverty prevented them from doing.
