The Gender Gap Is a Marriage Gap
One of the biggest reasons for the decline in marriage is the college gap. Women are not willing to pair off with men who have less education than they have. We could stop minting all of these unnecessary college degrees and not really lose very much as a society, Brad says. The lack of wage increase for working-class men in particular appears to be deeply tied to the story of lack of family formation or lack of marriage ability.
