The Importance of the Rule of Law in Equality of Opportunity
I want to say one more thing about equality of opportunity, because it's a phrase that you and i know. It can be used by others in, let's say, mischievous ways. But what we by equality of opportunity? There's a distinction between two ways of thinking about it. And they parallel the idea of negative and positive rights. Like, for example, if we say that we have the right to life, that doesn't mean i has the right to a kidney dialysis machine.
