How to Cite a Case
Each case has at least one citation. This is a unique identifier that distinguishes this case from all others. If you see something like 347 US 483, the US tells you this is a federal Supreme Court decision. The plaintiff generally comes first, then the V for verses and the defendant. But sometimes the order switches on appeal.
