A New Album by Otis Reading
Redding agreed that the song sounded perfect for him and said he would record it. He apparently made some attempts at rehearsing it at least, but never ended up recording it. Those lyrics were just too abstract for him to find a way to connect with them emotionally. As a result of the LA gigs, Bill Graham booked Reading for the film or in San Francisco. But before he did, there was another album to make, and this one would see even more of a push for the white market - though still trying to keep everything awful.
