The History of Technical Analysis
Until around 2000 maybe, a little bit before maybe after, you could actually see them as cousins of technical traders. They focused on looking at patterns, looking for patterns in the market. That was early on or that was till 2000 or so. And then they started collecting other kinds of data. Everything from the stuff that we call today, alternative data, they are a data machine. If there's a piece of data you can think of a possibility, they bought it before everybody else and they've been analyzing it before everyone else. Now you can look at them as early machine learning because their models work on their own.
