Franco's Life After World War II
Franco resonated with certain aspects of Nazism and fascism, but was never interested in such systems being imposed in Spain. He refused to participate in persecution of the Jews, accepting thousands of Jewish refugees fleeing France. Franco would have gotten autarky even if that hadn't been an economic goal of his. After 1945, Spain was wholly isolated, due to its association with the Axis.
