The Sateriax faced near extinction when geologic activity kicked up massive clouds of dust blocking the sun. They had a mutation that allowed them to bypass their reproductive limits. The insect ophaga became an incredibly advanced race of beings. A staromorphs would spread throughout the entire galaxy, simply monitoring the various planet civilizations and growing in intelligence. Tier VI is entitled self-governed. These are races of evolved humans who did not band together with the post-human empire for one reason or another.
