Negotiators of the SEF and ARATS had to couched one China in accompanying language. No one wanted to put anything in writing, so they agreed to make oral statements. The Taiwan side settled the matter to mutual satisfaction by saying their position was in line with what had been agreed to at the August 1992 ROC National Unification Council. A Taiwan politician named Suu Kyi called this formula, one China respective interpretations, Iga Zhongguo, goods of Biaushu.
