Monizh: I think it would be a good time now to actually introduce you as the guests so that listeners also have an idea of what your own expertise and your own interests are in this narrative identity fields. Kate has done such great work on the ways in which culture supports or constrains our identities, especially for people with physical disabilities. Monizh: My research focuses mostly on how parents and friends help us develop our identities but also how they might constrain that development. The stories we tell can both maintain particular cultural stories or disrupt them.
