The History of Animal Domestication
Diamond's theory is based on guns, germs and steel. But he also points out that ocean going ships and horses were also hugely consequential. The history of animal domestication helps us understand the productive power of urasian societies. And perhaps most crucially, it explains why diseases carried by europeans wreaked havoc on certain indigenous societies. Now i know there are some scientists in the crowd out there, so i'm curious what all of you think of these arguments.
