The Australian Team Is in First Place
Jocelyn Newmola from Adelaide won a division called the Prone Assist Women's Division and she's only been surfing for two years. The event was also extra special for Sam Bloom from Sydney because the officials said she was strong enough to paddle onto a wave on her own. Another surfer, Mark Stewart from Byron Bay, he got a perfect score in one of his heats for surfing through the tube of a wave. It's good that they can be in a competition just for them. Let's see if they can stay there through the next competition. That's happening in a few months time on the California coast. So Australia, good luck.
