Book Review: Homegoing by Yawki Asis
Homegoing by Yawki Asis is probably one of the best books I've read in my lifetime and if you like sort of epic literature. Britt Bennett's The Vanishing Half which is about two sisters who grow up in a black community where everyone can basically pass for white was also amazing. Joe Baker's Long Born told entirely from the perspective of the servants was just so so good it was supposed to be made into a movie but pandemic kind of interrupted that process. Pat Barker's sequel to The Silence of the Girls called The Women of Troy picks up the period of the Iliad when the Trojan women have been captured by the Greeks. Amanda Hollis-Bursky
