The Current Backlash on Social Media

i began to write sceptically about social media probably around two thousand 13, two thousand 14. And at the core my critique was a humanist approach that eventually became what was known as the digital minimalism philosophy. We were in this moment of exuberance in which we were all just accepting a model of universal social media use. The problem with this mind set was that it corresponded with a time period when major social media companies were drastically transforming their applications for revenue generating reasons. So they became very addictive and over use became the norm. But i think there's elements of this current back lash that makes me uncomfortable. I want to elaborate some of those, those reasons that i've hinted
