Themes of Love in the Gospel of John
Mur and alos are connected not just with death and burial, but also with these themes of love. This is the king entering into his spiced garden chamber, a chamber from which he will later come forth With the wind that awakes these spices. These are all themes that the evangelist delicately evokes at this point by the way that he describes jesus being laid to rest reading the gospel.
