Sometimes people are assumptive, but they talk about themselves, not you. So i think that people like it better if i am focused on them, rather than focused on myself. I would say that a lot of people who go into negotiations are very egocentric. And when you can switch that to focus it on the other side, their problems, their challenges, their needs, you're going to be far more effective in every one of those interactions.
