Monopoly and the Great Depression

Monopoly was invented during the Great Depression. A man named Charles Darryl was unemployed and came up with the game to pass the time. In 1934, he brought Monopoly into the game company Parker Brothers, hoping to make some money off of it. Ralph Onspach had been involved in a trademark lawsuit back in the 1970s over a board game he invented called Anti-Monopoly.
