Is Liberalism Extricated From the Logik or the Ethos of Market Society?

To what extent can liberalism be extricated from the logic or ethic of market society? For some on the political left, Liberalism just is the ideological defence of market society. But i think there's a lot that socialists can actually learn from the liberal tradition and vice versa. Many of the reasons why people rise and fall occur for morally arbitrary reasons. If they are not the result of historical prejudice and discrimination, i should say, ergo. There's no reason for assuming that the market order of things is somehow justifiable from a liberal perspective.
