The Early Solar Nebula

There are indications from Cassini that the space will be near that the rings actually formed perhaps a very similar time to the formation of Saturn itself. But it's really a very primitive type of composition, much the early solar nebula. Is there a sense in which it's going unwrapped? Is it settling down to be something else or is it as it is and will stay like that as long as you can predict?
