The Importance of Ease in Islam
There is a sense that if you have two equally legitimate options in Islamic law, there is wisdom in choosing the easier course. The standards by which we make those judgments of ease and difficulty are very different in liberal societies where we have a completely different idea of what it means to be for things to be easy. Some people are attracted to Islam because it's not soft and fluffy, like supposedly Christianity is at least from this perspective.
