CNN's John Sutter talks about the cultural conundrum of safety and guns. He says in cultures that are close to danger, particularly male dominated cultures of physical labor, there is a very intense safety culture around those things precisely because you learn real quick. The NRA goes out and basically tells everybody, no, we will have a political system where no such safety measures are mandated,. In fact, we're going to run you out of office if you even suggest a fraction of that.
