The Man's World, Not Charity's

Medicine had always felt to her a man's world, especially in the places like here where it touched government. She'd been around terrifying diseases most of her adult life and had made a pact with herself not to fear them. The walls of her office and home bedroom were plastered with post notes, there is no short cut to courage. Courage is a muscele memory. Like most everyone else, she needed reminding.
