The Role of Language in the Formation of State in Independent India
After independence on November 1956, Andhra Pradesh emerged as the first linguistic state. Some states were purposefully created to uphold differences based on culture, ethnicity or geography. Nagaland, Charkhand, Uttarakhand are the most recently formed states based on linguistic rights and ethnicity question. I think like Napoleon would be turning in his grave, when he said, you know, English is the language of shopkeeper, but it seems the language of the shopkeeper has taken over the world. Yes.
