Jung said archetypes are like river beds, which dry up when the water desserts them. He was really speaking about Nazi Germany then, in his sense that we were in for a real flood. Deb: We can fall in love with archetypal forces because they are deeply moving and very powerful. But as we all know as clinicians, they can also be enormously dangerous and destructive.
