Fine Design: A Counterpoint to Mass Production

I think the downside of blurring the boundaries is this sense that designers can just sort of go and dabble in these other things. And so it also requires us to think carefully about how fine design announces itself relative to industrial design or mass production. So interior designers often want to specify collectible fine design objects as the statement objects within an interior. But then the fine design thing is there to really be a kind of curated counterpoint to the mass produced things. All of these things, you really have to understand that in order to position work correctly for your project.
