Cubs shunned the hollywood system and its publicity machine. He could not live in alas because everyone there seemed disappointed when he would announce his success. So he found england to be a lot more palatable. The editing room was his happy place, as that was where the movie finally would be made. His theory about film making is that the film itself was was the cheapest part of production.
