Do Ukrainians Really Know Their Past?
Francis: From speaking to lots of Ukrainians I've it's really struck me how well Ukrainians know their own history is this sort of thing something that's common knowledge. Annarina: We had quite strange relationships between Ukrainians and Tatars but it was also a part of propaganda because it's you know when I'm remembering like early 2000s the Tatars come back to Crimea so they were deported and now we see that it was also Russian propaganda. Francis: For us now it's very important to find our roots to bring them back to light and to teach our next generations about what has happened in Ukrainian history.
