Winter is no longer the season that we are guaranteed to have minimal wildfire risk. The winter conditions we are experiencing in the mountains are drier and trending even more so. I want to highlight a fire that occurred at the urban wildland ecological interface in December of 2021. A freak windstorm came with winds that were clocked up to a hundred and fifteen miles an hour. So this is not the environment where we want to spark a wildfire.
