The Beginnings of Abolition
We don't think that there's one hegemonic view of the world in which we will all flourish at some amorphous point in the future. We're not trying to set out programmatically, you know, A to B, this is how we get there. I suppose for us, thinking with abolition was useful because as Ruthie Gilmore tells us, "Abolition is about presence as well as absence" So it's not just the absence of borders, and that's why we're quite keen in the book to distinguish ourselves from the kind of libertarian right who argue for open borders.
