Is There a Parallel to the New Testament?
i don't know a beowulf, although we do have a set up for beowulf being a skilled swimmer in the break episodetsa a fine story. There's also a kind of folk tale quality to a lot of beowulf,. or folk ore of fairy tale quality. Think of the things that come in threes. When beowulf gets to denmark, he's challenged three times, first by the coast guard, second by the guardian of rotgar's hall, and third by unfert. And so there are s a huge amount of text spent on those three challenges. By contrast, the fight with grendellis pretty short. Y well
