When this book went out on submission, there were some editors who expressed disappointment that it wasn't a quote me to novel. I really wanted to show that she also has agency and that there's a sense to a certain degree of wanting to be equals when they're in the middle of that relationship. And power in a relationship is fluid. In any intimate relationship, however, if it runs a few months even, you know, it's going to have, it's not going to be static.
