Anti Semitism in Romania
Anti semitism among ethnic romanians had already been brewing for decades. Then on september sixth, 19 forty, a fiercely jew hating government minister named jon antonesku overthrew romania's king and was installed as dictator. He wasted no time in implementing even harsher anti jewish laws than had previously existed. Jewish citizens were no longer permitted to attend educational institutions nor patronize bars or theatres. All jewish men of working age were conscripted into forced labor.
