How Data Centers Are Structured

Most companies aren't building their own data centers anymore, they're leasing them. Northern Virginia is the largest data center market in the world by about a factor of depending on how you measure it, probably three or four in the entire world. The second type and really more how the data center industry was born was a company, a bank, a hospital, or anybody. They typically would have, you know, a 10 store building and maybe half of one floor had a bunch of servers in it but with extra air conditioners and a couple extra locks on the doors.
