I'm Scared for the Future
The fires in Australia burned more than 46 million acres worth of land. 34 people died directly from the fires themselves and another nearly 450 died from secondary things like smoke inhalation. This is a huge catastrophe that can at least in some part be blamed on climate change, which we can expect to get worse in the future. The same thing happen in the US wildfires here in California, Colorado, Washington, Oregon,. as well as a record breaking hurricane season. And it's not to say that one was more important than the other; they're all a sign of the same thing.
