The Story of Israel

The people of Israel were called to be the family of Abraham through whom God would bring his blessing to the nations. They failed, and so Jesus is now he's restarting the story of Israel. He has come to be what the people of Israel failed to be - as their messiah and representative. The paradox at the heart of the Christian Good News is that it's God becoming human to be the kind of human towards God that you and I are incapable of being.
