The Power of Scent
A lot of what many of us have been experiencing recently and you'll see a backlash in the business news about it too, is that companies are very into self-care right now. For example, I trained myself a couple of years ago when I was writing a book to light a scent, a scented candle in my office and like, that would train my brain that it was time to think and focus. So for several reasons, one scent, anything that comes into our olfactory scents, can again activate that parasympathetic nervous system that associates that with relaxation. That's why the recommendation around sleep hygiene to not, you know, watch TV in bed, for example
