The word Anitya used, means that which is not eternal. The impermanent nature of everything in this empirical world and in the sensory world,. That is emphasized here. Once you remember that, there is no need, there will be no scope to become discontented or dissatisfied or depressed. And that takes you to a state of even-mindedness. It is not a state of elation. It is a state of balance, the equilibrium of mind. Compassion for others and purity of thought. Why is that important?
