Being Nigerian, one of the biggest pieces, our culture is very collectivist and American culture is very individualistic. So in growing up in Nigeria, I watched how the people I was around really exhibited kindness and generosity. The ring that I wear on my right hand is a gold-filled ring thatOne day I saw my grandmother wearing and I was like, oh my God, I love your ring. It's so nice. She took it off her hands and gave it to me and I wear this ring every day as a reminder of how life is not just about me. That much I do attribute to my Nigerian background the way my mom raised me.
