The Consequences of Lawyers Supporting Former Ministers in Inquiries
The public have a right to know how decisions were made and what their politicians were up to. I fear that that is slightly creeping in, especially when it comes to some of the more informal ways in which senior policymakers communicate with each other at the moment. If you don't like the fact that your WhatsApp's are getting out, then maybe communicate in more serious ways with each other. It is quite odd that in a way, it doesn't matter who's paying for the lawyers, put that to one side. But it is a little bit odd that the cabinet office is the client in this case to lawyers who are advising Boris Johnson.
