The singer-songwriter says he wanted to steer away from the more folk indie sound of his first album. "I just was feeling like it needed to be more impactful and more angry," she said. The band is currently touring in support of their new album, which comes out on September 14.

Looking back at their time writing and recording in a makeshift Airbnb studio, Lizzy, Philip, and Ehren dig into their enormous archive of song versions (including John Mayer versions), talking through their process of chipping away at each track and shaping the sounds to match the core expression.
