As therapists, our brains are kind of trained believe that we have more control over situations than we really do absoluty. It gives you this false sense of control where you start feeling like you're in control of a lot stuff. And then when things happen like this, then it's like you still have this belief that i control things, right? But something bad happened, therefore, i must have made it. That was just that illusion that i kind o trained my brain to believe.
