If youre posal doesn't clearly demonstrate a path to delivering tangible value, it doesn't deserve to be approved. Many proposals lack rigor in the financial models. Assumption analysis is weak. Scenario modelling is sometimes missing. Altogether, even a thorough options analysis of the technical options is often not there. Now if it is rejected, don't take it personally. I've seen really well constructed, art lated proposals not gain approval simply because, in the scheme of things, there were just other more compelling investment options. So rather than sitting around bitching and moaning about having it rejected, and blaming your boss for not approving it work out how to craft and present your case
