The Rise of Authoritarianism Around the World Threatening Democracy
We are in a multipolar world. We have worked to ensure that we are continuing to take a leadership role in that world. This is something that the world asked for. For the few years that we stepped away from multilateralism, when we stepped out of the Human Rights Council, we were missed. The day we came back, people applauded. So our leadership is welcomed. But we also want to work with other partners in a world that has changed. And this is why we think that the UN should be, and the Security Council should be more representative.
