Lincoln's Argument Is That Secession Is Illegal

Lincoln is arguing that secession is illegal. If a state leaves the union, it fundamentally violates the constitution. It is unconstitutional to secede. And finally, importantly, he says that he supports the original thirteenth amendment,. believing it already essentially in the constitution. Constitution does not allow him to interfere with slavery where it already exists.
